Job Description Engineering Sea Manager · Ensure the implementation of company safety management system fleet wide. · Ensure vessels seaworthiness all the time by way of regular inspection · Oversee the implementation of maintenance system based on the ISM standard · Oversee and manage refits and planned work projects, ensuring that essential refit, maintenance and survey work is included in specifications and project plans and associated expenditures remain within budget. · Responsible for workforce planning to ensure that the Operations Division not only has sufficient staffing to successfully meet operational requirements, but also has the right people in the right places. · Provide technical assistance to the team in times of machinery breakdown · Ensure that preventive and corrective maintenance are duly documented · Ensure coordination with the stakeholders in times of planned and unplanned maintenance · Provide information and regular update in times of unwanted downtime due to technical problem · Ensure that regular and proper inspection / audit are conducted onboard in accordance to company’s requirement · Oversee the execution of hull and machinery works in times of dry docking / afloat repair · Ensure regular monitoring of spare parts · Provide annual budget in coordination with ships big 4 and technical superintendent subject for approval · Authorizes and monitors fleet engine supplies and stores ordering · Ensure proper handling of resources in efficient and cost effective manner · Ensure that the requested items are within budget · Assess if the maintenance works can be done by our engineering team before engaging 3rd party service provider · Monitor the vessels performance to save fuel and lube oil · Attend to vessel sea trails, dry docking, repairs and surveys when required. · Responsible to determine repair specification for dry docking, maintenance and surveys with the most cost effective method. Thereafter compile document reports upon completion of each dry docking including summary of work carried out and compare actual expenditure against the budget · Coach and mentor employees to assist in their career development and will ensure that performance evaluations and accountability agreements are completed at all levels of the department.
Job Qualifications · Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/ College Degree in Marine Engineering
· At least 10 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position
· Must have very good communication and interpersonal skills
